FUITES ???????<br />
SECURITY surrounding the Oscars is normally tighter than a starlet's stomach muscles but not this year - because two major leaks are threatening the awards.<br />
Footage of host Hugh Jackman in rehearsals for the ceremony and a list of the winners appeared on the internet yesterday.<br />
While the winners list, written on official Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences paper, was dismissed as bogus by Oscars organisers, the footage of Jackman is genuine.<br />
The two-minute video posted on YouTube yesterday shows the star of Australia and the X-Men series rehearsing as presenter of the Academy Awards.<br />
The clip shows Jackman rehearsing at least one dance number and singing the first line from Irving Berlin's Top Hat, White Tie And Tails. It was first posted on deadlinehollywooddaily.com, a movie industry news site.<br />
The video, professionally shot and edited, with high-quality sound, was filmed by a production assistant, according to the site.<br />
It was reportedly shot during rehearsals in New York and on a temporary stage in Hollywood. In it, Jackman wears a top hat and a sleeveless, navy blue T-shirt.<br />
He appears both focused and open about his role hosting the movie industry's night of nights.<br />
"I always used to say to myself, 'I'm glad I do what I do,"' Jackman says. "Because imagine being a 100-metre runner in the Olympics: everything has to be perfect on that day. But I suppose in showbiz, this is about as close as I'll come, because there'll never be so many people watching something that I do, at one time, ever, no matter what I do."<br />
The contents of the Oscars show are always kept secret. Yet organisers were shocked to learn that a list claimed to show the winners had been leaked.<br />
It says Australian Heath Ledger will be best supporting actor, Kate Winslet best actress, Mickey Rourke best actor and Amy Adams best supporting actress. It claims Slumdog Millionaire will be best picture and Danny Boyle best director.<br />
However, Academy spokesman Leslie Unger said votes were still being counted by accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers.<br />
"The document is a complete fraud," she said.http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/entertainment/oscars-outrage-at-sneaky-previews/2009/02/21/1235237419700.html
